Hi there,
We're making updates to improve Google Flow and enable exciting new features you’ve been asking for. As part of this change, we’re updating our Privacy Notice and how we store your data on Google Flow.
These changes will take effect on May 19, 2026. By continuing to use the services after the effective date, you acknowledge the updated Privacy Notice.
What's Changing?
- Your prompts, uploads, projects, generated outputs including images and videos, and associated metadata will be saved by Google until you choose to delete them. You can delete your data at any time within the Google Flow product.
- We’ve removed the “History On / Off” toggle and added a “Help Improve Google Flow” toggle to preserve control over how your data is used, including an option to disable using your data for quality and product improvements.
Opt-In for Differential Treatment of Existing Data
In the coming months, we'll give you the option to opt-in to have your existing data be subject to the new retention policy (i.e., saved by Google until you delete it).
If you choose not to opt-in, data collected prior to the effective date will be subject to the existing Privacy Notice, including data retention periods.
Please take a moment to review our revised Privacy Notice for additional information.
Thank you for being a part of the Google Flow community.
Best,
The Google Flow Team
